can’t connect playbar to listening group

if I’m playing my 2 x era 100s and era 300 and try to add my playbar (with sub and surrounds) it shows as connected but no sound. I’ve reset everything more than once and it keeps happening. S2 app.

also, the app takes ages (several minutes) to find all devices.

You must be a Star Wars fan 😂

IMO before we discuss routers you should share information about your current network such ISP and hardware you are using. It could be that only a few adjustments are required.

Hi

Current setup is a BT smarthub 2 using fibre to the home.

2 x era 100s, 1 x era 300 in separate rooms. Playbar, sub and 2 x play ones grouped together for TV room.

Bizarrely, its actually working properly atm.

On the suggestion of Sonos support:

-Adjust the WiFi channel from automatic/auto to manual channel 1, 6 or 11 for the 2.4 Ghz band and 36 for the 5 Ghz band.

I did the above, then reset the router, so now its fingers crossed to see how long it lasts!

If you have a wifi signal strength app you can look at some of the wifi channel information and try to choose the ones that look best. That applies to the 1/6/11 choices for 2.4 gHz and the wider selection in 5 gHz.

Since the best channel can change based on both your neighbors and your own actions checking to see if another change is a good place to start if things get bad again. Happens all too often when several neighbors have set theirs to auto.
