Can no longer connect a Sonos SUB to a stereo pair of Sonos Ones

I recently came across a problem where I can’t connect a gen2 SUB to my stereo pair of Sonos Ones. App says I need a compatible speaker and only lists all the soundbars as being compatible. In the past I’ve had no issues connecting gen1,2 and 3 SUBS to a pair of Ones and also a pair of Play1s. Has something changed that I’m not aware of and can now only be connected to a soundbar? Thanks 🙏🏻
