Is it possible to pair my Denon RCD-M41DAB to a stero pair of Era 100s? At the moment it doesn’t register the speakers at all, I wondered if it might only be possible to connect to one speaker and not a stero set-up.

You have the wrong understanding about your Denon RCD-M41DAB and the Era 100’s as they relate to Bluetooth (BT).

  • Both devices RECEIVE a BT signal from a cell phone, tablet or computer that sends a music stream for music stored on the host device
  • Neither the Denon RCD-M41DAB nor the Era 100’s SEND a BT signal
  • Here’s a link for the Denon RCD-M41DAB regarding BT
  • All said if your cell phone, tablet or computer allows SENDING a BT stream to multiple devices at the same time then you may be able to hear the stream via speakers connected to the Denon RCD-M41DAB and the Era 100’s simultaneously. However, the speakers may or may not be in sync.

Most devices can connect a single Bluetooth stream, not multiples. Which means a single stream (stereo) to your single Era 100, which then shares the stereo signal across the WiFi (both speakers need to be on WiFi). Use your Sonos controller to set up the Era 100s as a stereo room…or if you want two ‘mono’ speakers, just group them.

Looking at the information on Crutchfield, I do t see any indication that your device can send two streams, so all of this tracks.

That Denon offers no outputs but for speakers and a line-level sub so there is no good way to connect it to anything else.

Thanks for your kind replies, though they made me feel an even bigger pillock than I already knew I was just a few minutes after posting! When I realised that, of course, the Denon has no outputs…

Thank you!
