I’ve noticed the same after the latest May 2026 update. The app feels slower overall and the HD badge has disappeared from my speakers too, even though my internet speed is perfectly fine. Seems more like a software/app issue than a network problem.

Airgetlam

I’d suggest a network refresh, it’s likely the Sonos system is having issues connecting with the router, rather than the speed of the router connecting to the outside world. To try this, unplug all your Sonos devices from power (or power them off, if they’re battery powered), then reboot your router. Wait two minutes, then power back on / plug in your Sonos devices.  Wait another two minutes, then test.

If the issues continue, it could be at the other end, as Sonos does ‘show’ what is sent by the server, which is owned by the streamer, not by Sonos. In that case, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Sonos sometimes has update related issues on some systems, the network refresh above usually cures it.

If it keeps happening setting DHCP reserved addresses in your router can make a permanent fix.

If you look at the Amazon Music app on your phone ( not the one embedded in the Sonos app ) the “Quality Badges” are missing.  Quality Badge is what Amazon calls it.  The “Quality Badge” was one reason I favored Amazon Music Unlimited.  I could see which albums contained Dolby Atmos tracks without having to open the album.  Now I have to open each album to see if there are any Atmos tracks in the album.  Wonder if this is causing the HD badge to not show on the Sonos app now playing screen when playing from Amazon Music.

I posted the missing “Quality Badge” issue on the Amazon Music forum.  No answer yet.

My badges are showing on the full screen but not the mini version.

Sorry, don't have the Amazon Music app loaded on this device.

What does that have to do with the Sonos app?

Just thought there might be a relation to what happened to the quality badges in the Amazon Music app and what the OP is commenting about.  The missing Amazon Music  quality badges MIA happened only a week ago or so.

Play a track for 2-3mins to allow the Amazon Music stream to calibrate to your network.

Just tested Amazon Music.  Both the HD & Atmos badges show.
