Hi I have 2 Play5 and 1 Sub of the sonos first Gen. How can i configure these products? It asks me each time to update, whe I do this, there is no compatibility any longer so that they are unusable… i brought it back to Sonos S1 but cant do some configs like stereopairing or pairing the Sub with another 1st. Gen Play5

Do I realy have to throw this old speakers away???
would be nice to get some help with this issue, thanks a lot!!!

Players are at 11.12 while controller is at 11.15. I don’t know if this creates issues. Have you attempted to update the players?

What app are you using? S1 or S2?

They should all work fine with the S1 app. What is the actual problem when you try to stereo pair them?

I got it finelly…

there was several issues. I couldn‘ do a stereo pairing. Probably ‘cos on the left P5 there was the Sub paired, but I was not able to unpair it. So I updated all the speakers to 11.15. For that, I had to connect one of the speakers with my router (I connected the left P5). From there I was able to unpair the Sub. Doing a stereo pair with both P5 wasn‘t possible since the Sub was paired with one of them - quite strange... So I unpaired the Sub and then I was able to do a stereo pair with both P5. After that, I paired the Sub with the left P5 and eurekaaaa!!!!
Now the System works like it always should have! Controlled with S1 😉👍🏻

To come to this point I encountered several strange errors and not working functions… many try & errors and big loss of time! (This happened many times, I stoped to count the hours of frustrations).

For me Sonos died, I will evaluate an other system next time (since I‘ve no possibilities to connect my newer Sonos speakers with 1.Gen and have to use S1 AND S2… that sucks!!!).

thank for your support guys!!!
