No, Sonos depends on wifi.

The good news is that Sonos uses their own variant of wifi to send Arc sound to the 300s and the Arc gets the TV information over the HDMI cable so once setup it should work for you for TV.

You can connect the Arc to your router's Ethernet and avoid using wifi to stream.

The controller apps will need wifi to connect but they don't put a lot of demands on it. There too you could use a Windows or Mac controller, wired to your router.

Improving your wifi isn't usually difficult or expensive so I'd look into that if you have issues. Tell us what you have and what is wrong with it for so e usually pretty good suggestions.

And since SonosNet is just another version of WiFi, it is equally affected by wifi interference . If you use it, the three channels it can be set to should be tried equally, if you’re unaware of the WiFi environment your system is in.

Ty I have the modem with 4 port router  from my isp

which is probably only cheap this is why I’m thinking of buying decent one

what Sonos net channel should I be using

Although the Sonos app allows channel selection for SonosNet, this is just bad design when SonosNet is not active in the system.

The point I’ve been trying to get you to understand is that you can keep the box supplied by your ISP. All you need do is purchase your own Router. Place the router side of the iSP box in Bridge mode and connect your new router to the modem side of the ISP box. Let us know if you still don’t understand what I’ve said.

Another question… why do you think wiring a Sonos product to create the SonosNet will resolve your issue? Creating the SonosNet may not be necessary with a new Router.
