If you’ve run Trueplay, it deals with those kind of settings for you as a part of the tuning process.

I don't know whether the distance to your surround speakers is important in connection with Thruplay, in my system they are more than 3 meters away according to Thrueplay which they are by no means, closer to 1-2 meters.
I would think the sound in your surround speakers would be louder the further away the system thinks they are, but I don't think I experience that.
Personally, I have adjusted the sound in them with +1 on TV and it is at 0 for music.
Just as I have adjusted bass, height, etc. everything is reset to o during a Thrueplay and I don't think the settings are optimal for me.

After you’ve run Trueplay, you can adjust bass and treble. It’ll only reset if, for some reason, you run Trueplay again.
