I have a Sonos ray, Sonos 1 and a Sonos move. When I put on my Sonos Move for music in our conservatory it automatically puts the music through the Sonos ray even though I click the source to be the move. Getting so frustrated.

Moderator edit: Changed “roam” to “Move”

Can you explain this again with more details? Also until my understand of your post it should be noted that in portable devices if you press the play/pause button the sound will pass to the portable devices and stop in the original speaker, see more here.

How are you playing music? Are you using the controller app, or are you using a voice control, and if so, which one?

Do you have your Sonos One or Sonos Move ‘grouped’ with the Ray in the Sonos software?

Hi and firstly thank you for the response. I am using the app either my phone or iPad. I don’t have them grouped as far as I am aware just all on the one system.

Sorry I said roam I never have had a roam I have a move. So sorry

I suspect you have them ‘grouped’ in some way in your controller. You may want to check that you have ‘ungroup on Autoplay’ checked in the controller’s settings, particularly for the Ray’s room. You may also want to call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Thank you so much. I know you are doing this free of charge and really appreciate people who have all helped on this question. Have a lovely weekend.

Another easy way around this is - if you have apple devices - simply use airplay and play your music through airplay.  In airplay you can just select the Move, or the Ray … or both.
