When playing my sonos play 1( I have to them together) using true play at low volumes on certain songs it sounds distorted and occasionally you get a pop which I think is a safety cut out.
If you turn trueplay off sounds much better and you can increase the volume

I'd suggest the next time you hear the "pop" you're speaking of, you submit a system diagnostic, and either post the number here, or contact Sonos to discuss it. There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
