I was listening to a Vergecast podcast recently and there was an Era 300 ad included. It claimed it has a “3.5mm port you can plug anything into”. I don’t own an Era but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack.

Indeed, you will need an extra accessory in order to get a 3.5mm port for the Sonos Era 100 and Sonos Era 300 speakers and it is not build-in.
Can you please share which Vergecast podcast you were listening, so that we can investigate internally?

+24I think it was “An impossible journey into self hosting” or “The next Macs and the next Twitter”. Was using the Apple Podcast app if that affects the ad selection.
Later in the ad they talked about connecting a turntable via the optional add-on, but the earlier claim was the 3.5mm jack was right on the device.
