I am trying to connect Sonos Play:5 (Gen 1 2013 model) with Samsung 6 Series TV (2017 Samsung 55MU6500). 

I bought the EMK Digital Sound Toslink to Mini Toslink Cable 3.5 SPDIF Optical Cable [Not a 3.5mm Aux] Optical Audio Cable (Straight White, 2M)

But the sound is not coming to Sonos. I am connecting the ‘line in’ in Sonos and optical port on TV. Am I missing something? TV set to Optical Digital Sound setting as well. 

Do I need something else?

The port on the Play:5 is analog 3.5mm, not Mini TOSLINK. If your TV doesn’t have analog output you’d need a cheap DAC.

Note however that the Line-In is not designed for TV input. There’s a minimum of 75ms delay to the audio, which could be a problem for lip-sync.
