On my Sonos 1 there is no 'off' button other than the pause button on top. When not playing does it go into a sleep mode and what is the power consumption when not playing? David Smith.

The Sonos components that I have measured are using 13W continuous.
All Sonos components use a minimum of 13W continuous through the Wi-Fi repeater.
The table of Sonos which indicating 3,8W for the Play:1 is incorrect.

Stop. Just stop. If what you said was true, Sonos would be open to a lawsuit for publishing the numbers as lower. I don't know how you came to your numbers, but they are faulty, and you should either cease your campaign, or hire a lawyer.

WiFi repeater? If you mean the wireless radio, needed for SonosNet, it's been shown that this consumes about 2W (along with other measurements which apparently debunk your allegations).

Besides, if every Sonos component consumed 13W all the time they would get very hot. They don't.
One downside of the net is that anyone can post anything without fear of being called out such that consequences get visited on them.
