Can I duplicate the Soundbar TV soundtrack on the Play 5's rather than just background noise? Also, can I play the Soundbar TV sound track on the Play 5's without the soundbar?

If you're play:5s are setup as surround speakers with the playbar, the answer is no to both questions. If you setup your play:5s as separate zone/room from the soundbar, the answer to your first question is yes. However, the play:5 audio will be slightly delayed, giving you an echo effect if your playbar and 5s are in the same room.
I'm not 100% sure on the second question, but I believe the answer is yes with the 5s as a separate zone. The line in on other sonos units (A) can be sent to different sonos speakers (B) without playing on the unit A. I've done that before. However, I don't know that I've tried it when A is a playbar.
