Play 5 1st and 2nd Generation stereo pair

HI All
Has anyone made a stereo pair using a Play 5 1st and 2nd generation. I currently have a Play 5 1st Gen and i am think of making a stereo pair, as the 1st gen is no longer available I would have to use a 2nd gen. Simple question is there any compromises or issues using two different generation of speaker, or would i be better trying to sell the 1st gen speaker and just go down the route of two 2nd gen speaker.

    Pairing the two in stereo mode isn't possible, so if you want a stereo pair you need another second gen model.

    If you just want them to play together for louder sound across a bigger space, you can do that by grouping them where both will play as independent speakers, but in perfect sync together. I suggest you see how that sounds before making any buying/selling moves.
