Can I pair the new Sonos One SL with Sonos Five Gen 2 ?

No, you would be able to pair it with a Sonos One, however.

You can, however "group" the two speakers together. That wouldn't give you stereo left and right, but both speakers would be playing the same music in sync.

Sonosequencer might work iirc it allowed pairing with non like speakers. But I would contact the developer to see if it/will support the one sl before buying.

Then lie down in a darkened room until the desire to stereo pair a One and a Play:5 disappears.
