Hi all, hoping to clear up something.
I have two Play 5s that work fine with streaming. I'm trying to connect my record player;

and pre amp

I was sure I read elsewhere on this site that the set up would only require a y line out to one of the paired speakers, but this only gives me sound through one speaker.
Also, if I wanted to cut down on wires and have the speakers a little further apart, would the Sonos connect do the job?
I also have the bridge located in the house for use when streaming music. Not sure if this is relevant to this topic.
Thanks in advance.

The obvious question first: are the two speakers either stereo paired or grouped together? If yes, what happens when you select the compressed option for the line in? If that does not work, for troubleshooting only, what happens if you run a temporary LAN cable from one 5 to the other? It ought to not be needed usually.
Yes, the Connect would work, and be the one to which the preamp is wired by a cable with two jacks at both ends. But do that only after this issue is fixed.
Yes, the bridge is relevant to this probably; it cannot be used for just streaming music. Either it is being fully used or not at all. To what is it connected? In about my Sonos system on the controller, are the two 5 units showing WM:0 as their state at the end?

Thanks for picking this up Kumar. I'll try your suggestions and let you know what the situation is.
