Is there a way to completely disable the touch controls on Sonos speakers?

My cat keeps stepping on the buttons at night and accidentally turning the speaker on. I know someone who covered the buttons with a plastic cap to stop it, but that looks clunky and isn’t really practical. It would be great if there were a true “off” option or a way to lock the controls when I don’t need them.

There is, in the controller. Go to the room settings for the ‘speakers’ and you should see a ‘touch controls’ setting under hardware.

Warm Sonos, cold cat, a long-standing issue with Sonos touch controls. :-)

The disable option is also handy if the spouse is tired of getting blasted when trying to dust.

Are you sure that it’s an “accident”. I’ve seen cats execute long action sequences to accomplish some favorite task, such as opening a door. Maybe your cat likes music or simply wants to attract you.

I would just get rid of the cat.
