Hallo friends,

I have Sonos Arc and 2 x Sonos Era 300. I live in an attic apartment with a unique angled ceiling and roof windows. I would like to ask for help with setting up the speakers properly, especially the two Sonos 300:

  1. In which angle should Eras be positioned? My idea is to align them with the angle of the ceiling, like on the picture.
  2. Whats should be the setup in the app? Should I use Trueplay?

Kind regards

Can you explain your reasoning behind pointing the Era 300’s upwards?

Given that Eras reflects sound from the surrounding walls and ceiling, I thought I need to adjust the angle, considering the sloped ceiling.

I was also considering mounting it upside down, as the manual suggests: "If you are placing Era 300 within 2' (0.61m) of a ceiling, position it upside down for optimal sound quality.” https://www.sonos.com/en-us/guides/era300

If that’s your reasoning, the Era’s might be to close to the ceiling - as you mention yourself. Especially in your environment optimal positioning might not be achievable. I’d vary with the placement and do a Trueplay with every variation to find out what’s sounds best.

So far, I've noticed a significant improvement after flipping the speaker upside down and tuning it with Trueplay. I'll keep you posted. I just tested a few Dolby Atmos scenes. Thank you!
