Hello I am new to the whole sonos ecosystem and I am curious if you can have a pair of Era 300’s and a sub gen 3 and have them work together. Do I need a soundbar.

Thank you

Yes, the Sub (gen3) can be used with the Era-300 speakers. A soundbar is only really needed if you’re looking to connect your Sonos system to a TV, or Projector for A/V TV audio surround sound.

See this link/guide, that’s if you’re perhaps interested in Sonos Home Theatre setups…

The Era 300s and Sub are really good for both UltraHD stereo audio and Atmos immersive music audio. You may also find some reviews for those speakers online, including YouTube video reviews too.

Here’s one example I quickly found:

Just to add to @Ken_Griffiths answer….

You can bond a Sonos sub to any stereo pair of speakers except the Sonos portable line of Move, Move 2 and Roam. In fact you can add a Sonos sub to a Sonos Amp that drives a pair of 3rd party wired speakers.
