My first gen Beam will not play sound most of the time unless I unplug the HDMI cable and replug it in.

Then the volume is outrageously loud. I have factory reset the Beam with no success solving the problem. Changed out cable with a Sonos supplied HDMI cable. No success. Made sure my Samsung TV has the proper settings for HDMI. Not sure if the problem is with the Beam or the Samsung TV.  The TV uses an external box for all connections. I am definitely connected to the ARC HDMI connection. I have reset all connections between the TV, cable box and Beam. Any help is appreciated

A little more info. Sometimes I will see a message on the Samsung TV that Anynet device is disconnected or not detected. There are also occurrences when the Beam will play sound after a long delay of powering up the TV with the volume cranked up.  The Beam will sometimes just stop playing sound while watching TV.
