Youtube music voice commands please

I see you support /most/ of the big music providers - not youtube yet.  There is great interest in this capability by your consumers, please add me to the list.  Had I done my research ahead of time and realized it wasn’t supported (and your app is a recovering disaster) I probably wouldn’t have bought into Sonos.

Please, fix things and offer this HUGELY used service.

Hi @JohnHennesey

If/when such a thing happens, I am sure it will be put in a notification in the app of anyone who has SVC installed - no need for any mailing lists.

I’m not sure I understand…

I am not a subscriber myself of this service, are you saying it doesn’t work? In what specific ways are you having issues?

Totally unclear question, thank you for catching it.  VOICE CONTROL, i.e. 'hey sonos play billy joel radio'  doesn't work with YT music yet.

And I see you did state voice commands in the topic title, which I totally ignored, my apologies…

Hi @JohnHennesey

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!

I for one would love YouTube Music to be controlled by Sonos Voice Control as it is also the service that I have, and have been waiting for this myself.

In the interest of full disclosure, Google Assistant already supports YouTube Music, but I see you have a Era 100 which doesn’t support Google Assistant. If you can find a second-hand Sonos One (not the SL variant) for sale, you could expand your Sonos system into a new room, and be able to give the One a command to play YouTube Music on the Era 100.

A Move or Roam would also suffice (both also discontinued, like the One).

I hope this helps.

Edit: Added Move and Roam

Thank you both for your replies.  One of the things I really like about the Sonos devices is they do not use the standard assistants.  I know it’s more work for you, but that’s why I threw out my Alexa - it was consuming the most bandwidth on the network - all while doing absolutely nothing.  It was just streaming all our conversations to their service.  No thank you.

I love how the Sonos processing happens locally - if you have a notification list for when this is available please add me to it.  If not, I’ll check back again.

Also - as far as investing more into the brand - I’m in a ‘wait and see’ pattern.  If Sonos can return to the successful empire it was/should be I’ll buy more.  Until then, this is just an experiment…

John
