I cannot get voice control to play any of my Sonos playlists. It just starts playing something random from other services. This Sonos article states that playing Sonos playlists is supported in voice control.

But not working for me. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your response. But it doesn’t help me. You can SVC your Sonos playlists, but I can’t. Why? To clarify, sometimes the response from SVC is “I cannot find that content, should I play xxxx instead?”

Since we are a user community, perhaps you could try asking Sonos support?

My Sonos Voice Control defaults to the Sonos Playlist even though I have a playlist with the same name in both Amazon Music Unlimited and Apple Music.  The way I can tell that the playlist chosen by SVC is the Sonos Playlist and not one of the playlists in the two services is because the Sonos Playlist has a mix of Apple & Amazon tracks.  My request is “Hey Sonos. Play Atmos Classical 6”.  I do not tell SVC where that playlist is.

@nwr:

What command do you use when requesting SVC to play one of your Sonos Playlists?  What Sonos speaker are you using SVC on?

Really? Since when do folks not go to the community for troubleshooting.

Coming here is a good first step BUT we are just other users (and a few moderators) who can't see your internal data, support can see it and the suggestion to escalate the issue to them is a good one.

When something works for some, but not for an individual, @nwr, and you had followed the correct steps (as indicated by the earlier posts in this thread), my conclusion was that it might be an issue specific to your setup. Sonos support can do far more in diagnosing an issue; fellow users can only speculate.

On the basis of what had been said in the thread, speaking to Sonos support seemed to me to be an obvious step. In addition, your first post asked, “Any suggestions?” so contacting Sonos support was a reasonable suggestion in response to your question.

Did you speak to them yet?

Or, if you have resolved the issue, what was the solution?

I find that going to the community often produces better results. But of course Sonos support is an obvious route, and I did go them.

After a few hours on chat and then the phone, and being escalated a few times, they were able to determine that there was a problem (I wasn’t told what) and that it would have to be escalated again to, I believe, engineering. Someone would get back to me via email about what to do next. I never received the email or contact from support again. After a few days I tried SVC again and magically it now seems to be working fine.

I was using SVC on my Move speaker to try and play a custom sonos favorite playlist (or also called a custom sonos playlist, depending on what controller you are using, phone app or desktop).

I was using the command “Hey Sonos, play my xxxx playlist”. Like I previously said, the result was Spotify playing some random song. Most of my playlists are custom created entirely of songs accessed from Spotify. I have some playlists that were “pre-created” by, for instance, the music service (i.e. a sonos radio playlist of indie rock, put together by sonos radio). The pre-created playlists always worked fine with SVC. But my custom Spotify playlists did not. It was something to do with the command being routed incorrectly to Spotify or something. I could be way off. Like I said they never stated what the problem was or got back to me.
