Connecting pc to sonos amp with 3rd party wireless transmitter/receiver

The phrase "not working” does make it hard to help you. What transmitter did you use? Is it working OK?Does the line in on the Amp work when you connect something else? Did you choose “Line in” as a source on the Amp?

thanks for the response…..not working = no sound going through 3rd party speakers, continues through laptop speakers…….1 Mii Wireless transmitter/receiver combo…….Yes with normal set up the amp works perfectly with tv, streaming YouTube music through sonos app… and reduced volume on with laptop itunes library….I used the phono left and right rca inputs on sonos….

1. Check headphones output on laptop with e. g. cabled headphones. If that works, make sure volume on laptop headphones output is set nearly to maximum. 
    
2. Check Amps input settings within Sonos app. Make sure autoplay is enabled and input sensitivity level is about 6-8. 

I recommend testing with a cabled connection to be sure it works in general before using the wireless connection. 

What is an Amp 2.1? Are you saying you have two wired speakers connected to a Sonos Amp as well as a sub?

It should be mentioned that the line-in input on the amp will have a 75 ms delay to it, unlike the HDMI-ARC connection you have to your TV.  In other words, once you get this working, the audio and video on your laptop will not be in sync.

Yes...headphone 3.5mm works with wired headphones...and volume set high...autoplay is set at 50%… if this isn’t going to work, I will go cable direct...20’ cable

I have been told about the delay...I don’t like that..

WOULD YOU JUST SCRAP THE WIRELESS SET UP AND JUST GO DIRECT USB CABLE FROM COMPUTER TO OPTICAL INPUT ON SONOS AMP 2.1?

IF SO, ANY OTHER CONSIDERATIONS TO GET ANY AUDIO FROM MY LAPTOP TO SONOS AMP?

I would expect the laptop speakers to go silent when a jack plug is inserted into the headphone socket. Thats the way almost all headphone sockets work. 
 

If it’s not automatic there may be a setting you need to toggle to get sound out of that socket. Or, the socket isn’t connected?
