Hi

Have not been on here for about a year now, I managed to go back to the old 16.1 app and have just run this ever since, but thought I would check back to see if it was now safe to update, I believe there’s also a firmware update.

I have been looking at all the app related topics and they all seem to have been closed. so I have opened this one. sorry if it’s going over old territory but I want to know if I can now update and keep all the old features.

thanks

The app works fine for me now. I like and prefer the new app.

I agree with peder_1 that the app works fine now for me. Unfortunately two important things are missing for me which may or may not matter to you:

1. Still cannot save the current Queue to a playlist from the official Sonos mobile app.

2. After playing a radio station still cannot revert back to playing the current loaded queue with the official Sonos mobile App.

There’s nothing new in the official app that is a killer feature so I find I wish I could downgrade. But your opinion will likely vary.

Topics close due to inactivity, any clos3d for cause will have a moderator note.

You might look back a couple app/firmware release topics and see what fol,s are saying. You can also review the app and firmware release notes.

Does anyone know if adding a music library stored on a nas drive is working?

My problems were cant add a library, none of my playlists came into the new app and it was very slow, particularly when you tried to adjust the volume, among many other little problems.

Also had to log into my sonos account to use it, and they started sending adverts

Adding a music library from a NAS works properly again, but SMBv2 or higher is required.

Performance and responsiveness are back on par with version 16.1. Volume control, playlist handling, and device discovery all function smoothly, though your experience may vary if you’re using older speakers like the Play:1.

Unfortunately, adverts remain a fixture in the new app. I’m not sure about the Sonos account question.

My library is on a NAS and working.

Best to call support and have them look at your system if the instructions aren't working.

Check on the slowness while you have them on the phone.

In addition to @Raguu ‘s note, SMB v1 is still required for S1 systems. S2 systems require SMB v2x or above to work.
