What issues are you speaking about?

There are new Samsung TVs with optical outputs such as the S90F. Then you simply need to setup the remote to control the volume of the Playbase.

My issue is that the new TV’s in my price range dont have the optical out, and my Playbase only has that option. So my question is if there is an adapter to put between the new TV and my playbase to convert from optical to HDMI.

Regarding the question with Samsung TV:
Could not get my other TV to send IR signals to control the volume through the remote control, even tho I tried all kinds of walkthroughs available.

Something like this should work for you.

Many new TV use a Bluetooth remote, so you may want to make sure the remote can transmit IR as well as Bluetooth before you buy.

Thanks for the reply, Pools!

Yea, something like that could work, hopefully!

Wierd thing is, that the exact same TV as the one that has broken down, is connected to a Beam, which has HDMI port.
In that case, there is no issues with controlling the volume via the remote. No extra settings needed, or a DVD/box needed.

Shouldnt it still require IR from the remote?

Optical is a one-way connection, HDMI ARC is a two-way connection so the TV a d soundbar can communicate.
