Hey everyone

We’re already in the midst of celebrating 20 amazing years of the Sonos Community, and we want to keep the party going with a fun new topic! 🎉 ​@AjTrek1 and I were talking about the celebrations and came up with the idea of this topic.

If you could design a special 20-year anniversary edition Sonos speaker, what would it look like? 

Think about our cool past collaborations like HAY and Beastie Boys – any unique design elements you would add to make this anniversary edition stand out?

Here are a few questions to get you started:

  • Design Aesthetics: What should the speaker look like? Would you go for a sleek, modern design or a nostalgic throwback to our early days?
  • Favorite Speaker: Which Sonos speaker would you choose as the base for your design, and why?
  • Special Features: Any unique features or functionalities that would make this speaker extra special?

    How about a limited edition Era 100 “20-Year Anniversary Edition” that has a top and bottom ring and Sonos logo that lights up? The brightness could be adjusted or turned off. Maybe do a very limited production in both white and black and sell them for $499 each (Sonos Line-In Adapter included of course).
     

    I would purchase a pair of these!

      The Five especially would lend itself to using a photograph to print on the front, not unlike the Beastie Boys version of the Play 5. Users could upload their own holiday/wedding/dearest pet photo and have a  speaker no one else owns.

        Would a print of sunglasses look cool on the front of an Era 300? 😎

        What is really like to see is a centre channel speaker - similar shape to Era 300  but perhaps flatter as it’s only centre speaker. It would, of course, need to be accompanied by left and right front channel speakers, and the upfiring speakers to enable Atmos - though the Era 300 could be used at a pinch. That makes development easier as it only requires that centre speaker together with processor capability to send appropriate audio and Atmos data to the front and rear channels.
