Philips Hue Sync and Sonos

I see where newer Sonos speakers with voice control can activate Hue lights. For those of us with older models currently the Hue Sync Desktop app involves direct connection to your PC which is not where most of speakers are located. It would be great  if it could be more integrated like the Spotify connection for Sonos where Sonos and Hue are directly connected through the Sync option on the Hue app. Being able to choose which speakers and what playlist just like you can currently with Spotify and Hue would be a great feature to have.

Thank you,

Dan Spinella

Generally speaking, and not to denigrate your request, my guess is that Sonos engineering doesn’t have access to Hue’s codebase. Your request probably should be made to the other party, not Sonos.

I have sent this request to both hoping that it might initiate something.

Hi @DanSpin

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request, and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!

As stated above, this does sound more like a request for Hue, but I’m sure we have contacts in their offices.

I’m not sure what you want to achieve. Activating Hue lights can be done with Alexa or Google Assistant - that are available on older some speakers. The Hue Sync app seems to be aimed at syncing lights to speakers, not activating lights. Can you clarify if you want to activate Hue lights or sync Hue lights?

I want to be able to use the sync function in the Hue app the same way you can with Spotify to sync the Hue lights with the song being played.
