Apple homekit voice service

Now that Amazon is discontinuing its privacy setting (as of March 28, 2025) and will be sending all commands to its cloud servers, are there any plans to bring Apple HomeKit / Siri to voice enabled speakers?

I have multiple echo devices that I’ll be unplugging before this goes live. But I also have two voice enabled Sonos speakers (Arc Ultra & Era 100). I don’t want to migrate to Google, because they’re likely to follow Amazon’s lead on the privacy front. I enjoy the convenience of controlling lights & music by voice, but not having everything sent to Amazon servers.

I suspect Sonos would be amenable, but it really is a question for Apple to answer, as they’d need to give both the legal go ahead, and do most of the implementation on their side.

Will this decision by Amazon also affect Alexa on Sonos?
