9th June 2026 - πŸ“² New Sonos App & Player Updates Now Available! πŸ”Š

Related content:Software

Hey all! We've got a new update live for both iOS and Android. Here's a quick breakdown of what's changed. If you want to see what the teams have been up to check out our App Release Notes here and System (Player) Release Notes here.

As always, this is a Phased Rollout β€” think of it like a wave; not everyone gets it at the same time. If you're on iOS and want to nudge it along, head to the App Store, pull down on your Account page (the one showing pending updates), and give it a refresh. That usually does the trick.

What's New:

App Update

iOS - 86.00.41

Android - 86.00.35

  • iOS App Intents - You can now create shortcuts that integrate with Siri and Apple Home. This includes playback control, grouping, volume control, and playback initiation.

Player Update

  • Modern: 95.1-78010

We'd love to hear from you! If you've already started building shortcuts, drop them in the comments β€” we'd love to see what you've come up with. And if there's something you wish App Intents could do, let us know. Your feedback helps shape where this feature goes next. πŸ™

I got the option to disable SonosNet today. So to answer my own question, the rollout of this feature runs in parallel with other updates.

I’m wondering if it’s too much to ask for the ability to easily create and removeΒ a stereo pair. Currently, it’s still behind multiple layers of user inputs.Β

Odd request, in my world. Why would you be doing such a thing frequently? What is the use case?

I have a couple of move speakers that move around. We have one in one room and one in the other room. However, we sometimes bring them outside or into one room together when we are hosting in the house or backyard, or we’re having an outdoor movie night. In those cases pairing them in stereo is a must! Even when they are in their different rooms, one being in the kitchen, one being in the living room, sometimes we just want music in the kitchen and not the living room. Other times it would be nice to have music and stereo when we are at the dining room table, which is right in between the kitchen speaker and the living room speaker. Similar scenario with my Era 100s at a different location.Β

Interesting, but understandable. You may be better making a new thread with the request, it would be more likely to be β€˜seen/passed on’, I suspect. ;)
