I have 2 x Generation 1 Sonos Roams. One white and one black.

I changed my WiFi Router a month ago and had to reconnect all my Sonos kit.

For some reason I have never been able to reconnect the Black Roam to my WiFi. The White Roam works fine.

I noticed that the "Find Missing Speakers" tool has disappeared from the App, and when  I used "Add New Speakers" feature it doesn't find my Black Roam.

I can still use it as a Bluetooth speaker and I can transfer music across from any home speaker to the black Roam as per the switch feature.

I suspect my black Roam is missing an essential update because I know in past the Speakers have gone missing when they aren't updated. However since I have a new Router I am unable to update the Roam speaker.

Help?

I’d be tempted to factory reset the Black unit and add back to your system.

If any updates are missing on the device they will complete as part of this process.

Thanks. How does one factory reset a Roam though?

Your Black Sonos Roam likely needs a firmware update but can't get it due to WiFi connection issues. Try this: Factory reset the Black Roam (hold power + join button until orange/white flash). Place it very close to the router during setup. Use the Sonos app > Add Product — make sure Bluetooth is off to avoid interference. If still not found, try setup using a 2.4GHz WiFi band only (some Sonos models have trouble with 5GHz). Once connected, let it update automatically. If issues continue, contact Sonos support — it could be stuck on an outdated OS version.
