Sonos Move error 1 when trying to update on Netgear Orbi wireless

My Move would not update.  It’s on the S2 version and out of the blue it quit working.  Per the directions in the app, I tried to downgrade to S1 to apply the update hoping I could then add it back to the S2 version - that also gave me an error that the unit could not be downgraded.  I had given up on the unit assuming it was just not going to update.  THEN, weeks later, when I was checking some security setting in my Orbi app, I saw that the Sonos Move was showing as “blocked.”  After unblocking it, the update worked.  I don’t know how or why it ended up as blocked in the Orbi system.  Anyway, I hope this helps someone else.

Hi @RDabbs

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Thanks for sharing - I’m sure that will be useful to someone!

Incidentally, it is impossible to put a speaker that already has S2 onto S1 if you don’t already own other products that are on S1 - there’s just no need, so it’s not permitted.
