Considering buying 2 Roam speakers for outside by pool. I still run S1 since I have a combination of older and new products. Will these new Roam speakers integrate easily?

No.  All versions of the Roam are S2 only and will not integrate with an S1 system.

Well Crap...any outdoor product that Sonos has will do that? Not like I’m gonna replace all my speakers!

None currently sold as new.  If you can find a Move Gen. 1, that will be S1 compatible.

Thanks!  I found a Move 1 on Amazon.

So, I assume that my play 1, 3 & 5 that are several years old can’t be controlled by S2 ?

Play:1 and Play:3 are S2 compatible, Play:5 Gen. 1 are not.

Here’s the definitive list:

So the only speaker I have that is not S2 compatible is my Play 5….

How do I tell if it’d Gen 2 or not?

@ShawnRock
To check if your Play:5 is Gen 1 or Gen 2, look at the physical design: Gen 1 has physical buttons on top, while Gen 2 has touch controls. Based on the serial number range you provided, it seems like your Play:5 is likely a Gen 1, which would not be S2 compatible. Unfortunately, no new Sonos outdoor products are S1 compatible, but if you find a used Sonos Move (Gen 1), that could work with your S1 system!
