I just got a roam 2 into add airplay and Bluetooth capabilities to my play :1s. I think I have the roam 2 and play:1s grouped. they all play music together from the sonos app. But if I try to play music via Bluetooth or AirPlay (like on my phone via Apple Music), the roam drops from the speaker group and plays alone.
the whole reason I got the roam 2 was to be able to use Bluetooth with my system. Can someone help me? I’ve been looking at help articles but have not been able to figure it out.

How to Airplay or Bluetooth (BT) with Sonos and extend to other Sonos speakers *
Airplay Example:
Select Apple Music on your device
Select a song and start play
Tap Airplay iCon
Select a compatible Sonos Airplay speaker
Music will switch from your device to the Sonos speaker
Go to Sonos app and find the speaker selected in #4 above
Tap the speaker iCon at the bottom in “Now Playing”
Select other speakers to play along
Tap apply
The speaker selected in #4 is the “Group Coordinator”. **
You can add/deselect any Sonos speaker except the “Group Coordinator”
Deselecting the “Group Coordinator” will stop the stream
Bluetooth (BT) Example:
Activate BT on a compatible Sonos speaker
Go to your devices BT settings to complete the paring process
Select a song to play from music stored on your device
Start play
Go to Sonos app and find the speaker selected in #1 above
Tap the speaker iCon at the bottom in “Now Playing”
Select other speakers to play along
Tap apply
The speaker selected in #1 is the “Group Coordinator”.
You can add/deselect any Sonos speaker except the “Group Coordinator”

That suggests wifi interference of some type. I use Bluetooth or AirPlay 2 quite a bit to a Sonos One, which the signal then gets passed on to my PLAY:1s, and while I haven’t done it today, it’s always worked flawlessly.
I’d read the linked FAQ, and apply any fixes that might be helpful, and if nothing works, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, Sonos’ lawyers get sensitive about GDPR, I suspect.
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

It might be a sequence issue. Start the Bluetooth stream to your Roam 2 first, and then group in the other rooms.
Okay, the problem was that the roam was not the group coordinator. When it is the group coordinator, Bluetooth and airplay content is played across the system. However it seems like the group coordinator keeps defaulting back to the play:1. So every time I have to go back into the Sonos app and reset it.

Short answer: no, not me, but there may be others able to answer. But: does the group coordinator have anything to do with room names and alphabetical order?
