One of my Sonos zonePlayer s5 is in recycle mode. How can I remove it from recycle mode?

You can verify it is truly Deactivated by connecting it via Ethernet and running “Phonos Plus” from the App Store.
Yep, any Sonos that was traded under the early version of the program is permanently bricked, good for nothing but spare parts. I lost two Play 5s and two ZP-80s by taking the early version of the offer.
