My sonos roam won’t turn on and it’s only 2 months old. Bought it for my birthday but didn’t get round to try connecting it to my sonos app until over a month. Tried to connect it with no luck and now it won’t even turn on. I heard lots of people have the same issue and other issues with sonos roam. What do I do? Many thanks.
I’ve recently received a Sonos Roam SL as a birthday gift, I’m having issues turning it off and it remaining off, as per the instructions I push and hold the on/off button for at least 5 secs (minimum) until I hear the second tone, indications are that it has turned off, even the app says it’s off line, after about 5 to 10 mins the white status light comes back on and the app I dictates it available. Any ideas please. Thanks
Hoping someone can help (I’ve tried Sonos Support but couldn’t connect through to a live person)… My Sonos Roam has stopped charging entirely. I’ve tried different chargers - the same charger is still powering other devices, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. I’ve also tried holding down the button at the back, holding down the play/pause button and pushing on the button at the back. It is making no sounds/ no lights etc (I figure because it is out of charge? maybe?). I don’t seem to have anyway to get it to work! Ideas/suggestions would be very welcome! Thanks :-)
Using my roam on blue tooth. As soon as screen on my pixel 5 goes black (as in goes to sleep) my roam keeps stopping for a couple of seconds then carrying on where it left off ( as goes silent for a second or 2). It does this about every 10 seconds. When I turn off automatic sleep so my phone stays on it keeps working normally although this drains my phone battery. It does it even if my phone is within 1m of the roam. There is no WiFi network where I am so that is not an option. No other device is linked to roam. Any help gratefully received.
Hello, thanks for reading my question. The community has recently helped me resolve another more complex problem than what I am about to ask in this thread. It is great that the more knowledgeable members here are so generous with their time. Thank you very much in advance. I live in two different cities. During the work week I am in one city, and weekends in another. Currently my Sonos system is setup in my weekend location (I’m not well off, it sounds better than it is, believe me). I have an Arc, Sub 3 and a pair of Moves. I simply want to take the pair of Moves with me to the home I live at during the work week. I do not need to take the Arc and Sub, just the Moves would be fine. Is it as simple as going to the work week location, turning on the App, it won’t find a network that it knows, and then using the Add a Trusted Network function? I would guess if that is the case then you just add the Moves as products one at a time and recreate the pair? If so, when I return on the weeke
Previously my Sonos system was fine. I had an Arc joined with a Sub Gen 3 in a room. I then purchased to move’s and added them no problem. Things ran fine for several weeks. I then cahnged my modem to a newer Rogers Ignite modem. No problem, updated the network and everyting worked fine. Suddenly one of my moves looked like it was conected, solid white LED, but when looking at the system it showed Move L/? meaning that one of the Moves just didn’t seem to be reporting to the Sonos app although the LED light remained solid white. There was no sound from the one Move, the Arc, Sub 3 and other Move were fine. I am really so not impressed with Sonos at this point. I went and unistalled the app three times, restared my phone. It just keeps remembering the previous install it seems. I want to have the app be reinstalled so that I can begin adding all the products again, but you can’t. Products can’t be discovered even when powered on solid white lights, no system exists to forget. You can’t d
I was very close to returning my Sonos Move before I found some posts here guiding me how to fix this. The previous post are kind of old, so I decided to make a new one, I cannot believe that this is still an issue - if someone here can explain why a default setting on a fairly common WiFi router will cause so much problems with Sonos Move (instability - disconnecting from WiFi all the time, google assistance not working etc) - I will be most interested to hear more about it.The fix is here (copy/paste from another post here). You need to log into the router - here is what I did: Connected an Ethernet cable to the ASUS RT-AC88U WiFi router, typed 192.168.1.1 in an internet browser and logged into the router (default username and password is “admin” (you should change this, I did and spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I changed it to...). navigated to the menu described below and disable “Airtime Fairness”“Wireless menu >> Professional Tab >> Airtime FairnessThis
In my living room I have an Arc and Sub. The ARC is wired to the router. In my kitchen I have a Move. When I first set it up, I could connect the Move to the app no problem, however, after a while it disappears. If I shut off the Move, it will appear on the App as offline. If I turn it on again, it will appear and work fine. Its a bit of a pain to have to recycle the power everytime I use it. A couple of updates ago, it seemed like it was finally fixed and the move stayed connected.I did an update yesterday and now its broken again and I have to restart everytime I want to use it.Its docked when this is happening
Just as my Sonos Play:1 and Sonos Play:3 is setup in Stereo, og had the same intention with my new Sonos Roam. After Stereo Paring, they can stay paired for some days, but unfortunately, they keep randomly unpairing for some reason, and i have to start over again. The Roam unpairing can happen out of the blue, - or when network/power or something else do change. Though, my Sonos Play:1 and Play:3 keep being Stereo Paired. So Why Not the Same With Roam? I hope this will be fixed.
Hi,My Move doesn’t turn on anymore after working perfectly. I went a week on holiday and upon return my move won’t turn on anymore. It have been sitting on it’s charging ring all that time. Therefore I think it’s definitely charged and I’ve tried every combination and fixes/resets I could find. The only thing I couldn’t find on the internet is the way the battery leds are flashing. These leds are orange solid for 5 seconds, then off, then solid 5 seconds and so on…It’s not the normal short on/off charging orange led cycle.I’m now trying to let it drain completely for 5 days, hopefully when recharging it will come alive again. In the meantime, anyone an idea what it could be?Thx,Bjorn
The Move connects to everything else fine. The Monster adapter sees the other bluetooth discoverable devices around it just fine. It cannot see the Move. It’s sitting right next to the move, in pairing mode. Here are the specs on the Monster adapter. Providing this so someone can confirm they aren’t compatible, but also hopefully this will show up in the Google results so someone else doesn’t waste their time with the Monster adapter. P.S. the adapter works great with other bluetooth speakers, just not the Move. I often listen to podcasts and audiobooks through my Roam, however when i disconnect from the Roam the progress of what I’m listening to resets back to the beginning.I also have a couple of Sonos One speakers and a Soundbar on the same network however there is no issue with them.Is there anything i can do to fix this issue? thanksHarry
Say, I want to use ROAM at a golf course away from my Sonos system. The following steps did not work:Charge ROAM Set up ROAM on my SONOS network Switch to Bluetooth pairing by holding down power for 2 seconds Pair the ROAM with my iPhone using Bluetooth Test the connection Turn off the speaker by holding down power for 5 seconds Turn on the speaker at the golf courseWhen I completed Step 7, the light was blinking white (I think because it was searching for wifi, which was 50 miles away) and refused to switch to Bluetooth via a two second press of the power button.Help?
I can’t seem to get Sonos working consistently. After playing around with it for an hour or so each time, I can SOMETIMES get my Sonos Roam connected to my iPad. So frustrating and all the explanations on how to make it work are mind boggling. Does anyone have simple (underline simple) instructions on how to get them to work? Otherwise I’m shipping them back to Sonos collect and they can bin them!
I cannot use Bluetooth without connecting via WiFi and the app.For instance I go to Spotify, It doesn't appear in usable speakers, it only shows up in Spotify when I open the Sonos app, which obviously only works with WiFi and select a song to play.I can search for it via my Bluetooth connection on my phone (android) and it's listed as the Bluetooth address, not the name. If I select it from the list I just get a message saying an app is required to use it.It has only worked once and is now unusable as a portable speaker, what on earth is going wrong.
I own a Sonos Move and have just purchased a Sonos Amp. I do not have any passive speakers setup with the Amp and these are the only 2 Sonos devices I have. I have the Sonos Amp successfully connected to my TV via HDMI ARC and I want to listen to the audio through the Move. As I understand, I need to group the devices but on the Sonos App, “Groups” is greyed out and says “This feature is available on systems with three or more rooms”. How do I get the TV audio to come out the Move in this setup?
I’d like to be able to have the MOVE permanently on the second floor of my house. The receiver is on an upper floor and I want to keep it there. I have only a turntable connected to the Onkyo. Will I be able to connect via Bluetooth or WiFi to the speaker? (The Onkyo has WiFi and Bluetooth capability). I didn’t find an answer to this question specifically in the Support and I apologize if I’m missing it. If I can’t connect in this scenario, what do I need to do? Thanks!
My roam stopped being connected to the wifi two days ago. I could connect via bluetooth fine. I checked it was all on same network etc and just couldn't work it out.Today I have done a factory reset so its flashing green. I have the roam as a device on my sonos s2 app but i cant seem to connect the two.App says searching foi nearby products and to make sure powered on but just doesnt find it.Help please. What am i doing wrong?
I’ve had my pair of Sonos Moves for a couple of years and have always had them configured as a stereo pair. It used to be that I could take one away and use it in Bluetooth mode, bring it back home, put it back in WiFi mode and the stereo pair would automatically come back.Recently, like in the last 3-6 months, have noticed that I almost always have to manually re-establish the stereo pair. It only takes a minute, but is annoying. Is anyone else having this same issue?
I have two Sonos Moves (not stereo pair). Originally named PatioSonos and GarageSonos. After some issues (notably with Apple Music). I decided to start again; I reset both Moves, reset the apps and went through the transfer ownership routine. Then set up again this time with names Patio and Garage. One or other Sonos app (using iPad and Mac) changes BOTH names to PatioSonos. Changing them to Patio and Garage again only lasts a few minutes.Changing one would be annoying but livable with; changing both is not just poor QA on the Sonos software but makes using awkward (as a minimum, I have to test play to determine which is which!).Any ideas/suggestions to really reset to factory settings appreciated...
I have just bought a Roam (not realising initially it required S2). I have an S1 system with a mixture of S1 and S2 compatible products. I want to leave that as it is and set up a separate S2 system with just the Roam. Is there a simple way of doing this?
Hi everyoneMy iPad app and all my Sonos devices were automatically updated to 14.12. And then, I cannot see my Roam any more…My iPhone app was still on 14.10, and the Roam was still visible (that is how I checked the Roam firmware version). When I upgraded the iPhone app to 14.12, the Roam vanished. I asked to the app to discover new products, but nothing happened. The Roam is still visible, and working, through Airplay.Does anyone has the same situation ?
