I"m planing to have two Move (gen 1) connected as a stereo pair in my kitchen. I would like to have the option to have them both play in mono even when paired. The reason for this is that I would like to be able to move one of them around without ending up with only one channel. Also my placing of the speakers isn't ideal for stereo.

Yes, I know I could group them instead but I don't want to risk messing up the perfectly adjusted volume level 😉

If Sonos really wanted to do something smart here they would allow the option to automatically switch to mono when picked up from the charger, and then return to stereo when the speaker is returned to the charger. Other options could be implemented as well, like muting the other speaker when one leaves the charger.

This feature would of course benefit Move gen 2 and Roam as well

Hi @EMIA,

Thanks for the feature request, I’ve forwarded this to the relevant teams for their consideration. Though I would suggest just unpairing the speakers for mono audio, even if you have to re-adjust the volume after.

We don’t have ETAs for feature requests and I can’t say if it will even come, so if your placement doesn’t suit stereo audio currently, then it would be better to adjust this setting now.

If you do have any further suggestions or feature requests, please don’t hesitate to let us know on the community!

Just want to +1 this. I have 2 ERA 100’s + Sub Mini in a home gym. For a number of reasons, it’s most convenient for me to have them as a stereo pair. It’s all “one room” and they will never get played individually. But sometimes the stereo effect is too pronounced, especially if I’m working on one side of the room.

Yes, I could unpair them, and connect the sub to only one of the ERA 100s, but that feels less than ideal.

A few ideas would be to:

- Have a “stereo effect” range toggle in room settings
- Have an option to toggle on/off stereo when building a dedicated room with multiple speakers
- Be able to combine multiple products in a single room more permanently (ala surrounds and stereo pairs).

Have you tried the new “zones” feature? Does that help?

Ah, this is almost perfect. But it appears a zone does not support adding a sub. But if it did this would be exactly what I want.

I would like to have the ability to save multiple trueplay settngs that are based on different listening locations in the room.  So when it’s leg day, you can have set to play one channel louder, or timed differently than the other...or just go with mono.  For my case, because I skip leg day, I have a home theatre setup with an desk setup to the left.  I’d like to be able to optimize the audio when seating at my desk or sitting at the couch watching TV.

I use my legs every day

;)

Not everyone is as fortunate.Â
