What excites you about Sonos27

With the awesome things happening with Sonos, it would be great to hear what excites you about Sonos27.

The most important improvement for me is System Stability; (not discounting all the great features) which isn’t discussed too often as a topic. *

I’ll preface this by saying...that going back as far as the much-maligned May 2024 software debacle; I never really had a major breakdown that would have caused me to go off the deep-end. I was probably spared much of the frustration as my system didn’t consist of any hardware older than a Sonos Port. My Asus Wi-Fi 6 AiMesh was (and is today via Wi-Fi 7) rock solid.

To my point of System Stability here’s one example. I had an alarm setup well before May 2024. To this date the alarm has never ceased to function be it in iOS or Android. As a matter of fact, I turned the alarm off for about three (3) months and just recently turned it on again. It worked perfectly. What makes this even more note-worthy is that the alarm was curated using Tidal; which as most know is not one of the go-to music streaming services.

Of course, nothing in perfect. I do have a minor issue wherein when I leave my home with my iPhone and return certain settings are turned off for my speakers. Those settings (for speakers that support them) are:

  • Spatial Audio
  • Bluetooth Idle-Auto Disconnect
  • Battery Saver
  • Wi-Fi Power Saver

The workaround (suggested by @kdowling ) is to briefly turn Airplane Mode on/off which refreshes my network for Sonos. Sonos Tech Support (up to Level 3) could not reproduce the issue. So, it may have something to do with my network and/or iOS. Before you ask…yes…it has persisted over several Sonos and iOS updates. Then again, it could also have something to do with my iPhone 17 Pro Max?  However, I’m not going to sweatthe issue; because as I said…it’s minor.

So, to the original question “What excites you about Sonos27”.

* My system was stable prior to Sonos27. Its just gotten better.

Compared to the BluOS and WiiM Home apps, Sonos still has some catching up to do... but otherwise, I agree—the app is stable, and new features pop up from time to time...
