I have old generation 1 equipment operating on S1 app (playbar, subwoofer, 2 connect amps, play 1 and play 5. One of the connect amps powers 2 passive speakers. I plan to get new arc for TV upgrade so I think I will need to get 2 amps to achieve system compatibility with S2 app. My question is will old sub , play 1 and play 5 work effectively on S2 app or do I need to replace those speakers as well. Finally will upgrading old subwoofer enhance overall sound. all sugesstions are welcomed.

Sub (any gen) and Play:1 are S1/S2 compatible. Play:5 depends on the generation. Gen1 is S1 only, Gen 2 is S1/S2. See below:
