Hi everyone,
I normally don’t post here, but I couldn’t find much info about this on other forums. I recently got a Formuler Z12 Ultra and installed Spotify on it.

My question: does Sonos actually support Dolby Atmos when streaming from a device like this? I’m mainly using it with my Sonos Arc, and I’m not sure if Atmos is fully recognized.

For context, this is the model I’m using: Formuler Z12 Ultra

Has anyone tried this setup?

If this device is the input to a TV with an HDMI-eARC output this should work, but I have no direct experience with this device.

As long as the TV passes Atmos, the Arc should process it. It is what it is designed to do.

Yes its quite a niche product so I understand that you dont have experience. TV does have HDMI-eARC

Great! makes me happy to hear that

Just for clarification…

  • The Arc is connected to the TV HDMI eARC port
  • The Device is connected to an available HDMI port
  • The TV audio menu is set to whatever it calls CEC
  • The TV has audio pass-through set to “on”

In the Sonos App expanding the “now playing box” when the TV is shown should show what audio is being processed by the Arc (PCM, DD5.1, Dolby Atmos)

If the TV only has ARC, not eARC, it could pass Atmos in a Dolby Digital+ stream. Your media player should be set to emit DD+.
