When TV is switched on, the volume of all speakers go 100%

I have a serious and annoying bug from some time.

When I switch on my TV, connected to an Amp, the Amp and all active speakers in my system sets their volume to 100% !

It is obviously extremely annoying.

Before, switching on the TV would have no effect on other speakers and the Amp would detach itself from any group. This is the intented behavior.

I suspect this is a bug from lastest software release since nothing changed in my setup.

Did they have you submit a diagnostic from your system for them to check? If not, try submitting a diagnostic (Submit Diagnostics) within 10 minutes of seeing the volumes go to 100. Then call Sonos Support (Sonos Support) to discuss it. They may be able to see what’s going on since they have access to information about your network and sonos system that no one here has. Don’t post the diagnostic number here, though.

I can’t comment on the volume issue, but check that you have TV Autoplay and Ungroup on Autoplay enabled. Toggling them off and on might help too.

@Pifrac

Next to grouped autoplay the level 100 volume issue sounds quite strange to me.
I strongly recommend to contact Sonos support, send diagnostics and let them take a closer look at this.

Guys, To take a wild guess: is the output level set to 'variable' or 'fixed'?

What device are you talking about? As far as I know the Sonos soundbars and also the Amp don’t have that option. It’s only the Sonos Port and the old Connect devices that support the fixed or variable output option.

Those who prefer facts over riddles must speak with support. 🤷🏼

Hey, I got in touch with them. They told me that the department hadn’t come across any issues similar to ours and that nobody had reported anything like that. They were looking into it themselves before getting back to me.

Thanks for the update. That will probably take a while.

Yes, the person I spoke to on the phone told me that they were going to carry out a diagnostic check and that they hadn’t noticed anything wrong with it.

ps: I have a bug, I can’t answer to your answer

When you reach out via support chat, a diagnostic report is automatically submitted.

That’s news to me. Thanks for that. I haven’t used the support chat in a while. I wonder how that’s done if you don’t initiate it.

Apologies, I expressed myself misleadingly out of laziness. 😳

Prior to starting the chat, you should log into your Sonos account, which enables the support agent to pull a diagnostic report. If you prefer to remain 'anonymous', the diagnostics must be submitted manually.
