When the Amp is used to power surrounds, the Sub output is turned off.
Unfortunately, unless you use the Sonos Amp as the ‘front’ driver of your Home Theater system, there is no way to use a third party subwoofer.
Thank you Airgetlam for your response. Do you know, is it appropriate then to have the Sonos Amp connected to my TV via its hdmi arc output? Would this slave the Sonos Arc to the Amp to utilize it as a front channel speaker?

No it doesn’t - the Amp can only be used as secondary device for HT surrounds, or it can be used as a primary HT device with another Amp, or some Sonos speakers, as it’s rear surrounds. You cannot setup the Arc in the way you’re hoping for here. The answer is to perhaps consider getting a Sonos Sub (recommended), or maybe a Sub Mini.
Sonos has no options that allow for the use of any Sonos soundbar as a ‘center’ only speaker.
