Unable to connect Beam Gen 2 to Projector

I’m unable to connect my beam gen 2 to the Mi Laser Projector 150. I’ve tried connecting the beam gen 2 to the projector’s HDMI 3 (ARC) port but it’s still not working.

Anyone has encountered this issue before?

I have no experience with this projector. With some TV/Projectors removing all HDMI cables to both units and removing power for a couple minutes will reset BEAM and TV. Next, power both units and allow them to fully reboot before connecting them with HDMI. Finally, reconnect the other projector inputs.

This is not guaranteed to fix things, but is has been useful in many situations.

Don’t have this projector, but it looks like it should work. Have you rebooted both the Beam and the projector, and ensured that CEC (ARC) is turned on in the projector’s settings?

Edit: and thank you for the link!

Comment: pretty poor manual, IMHO. They barely cover the fact that HDMI 3 is an ARC port, and certainly don’t discuss the onboard firmware/software and its settings possibilities.

Might be useful, since you didn’t mention it, to temporarily connect the Beam to the projector with the Sonos cable, just to remove any potential issues, and to get it working. Once you’ve done that, we can investigate different (longer, maybe older versioned) HDMI cables.

Yes, I have enabled CEC on the projector. I’m thinking of trying the HDMI audio extractor method. Hopefully it will work!

You could set the Beam up using a TV with HDMI-ARC and then connect The Beam to the projector.

You could set the Beam up using a TV with HDMI-ARC and then connect The Beam to the projector.

I’m not sure if this technique will be successful because it depends on when the devices exchange credentials. If the exchange occurs immediately after a reboot and initial connection of the HDMI cables, power down and moving the BEAM to another device might erase any data learned during the exchange. Even if data is not erased, it may not be appropriate for the projector.

I think that the projector is not sharing credentials for some reason. It could be a cabling issue.
