Tv with in-ceiling speakers

New to Sonos.  We are redoing our kitchen/living room and I’m adding 4 in-ceiling speakers with the amp.  My question is if I want the speakers to work with the tv, what’s the best way to do it?  Can I run an hdmi cord from the amp to the tv or do I need a soundbar to accomplish this?  Thanks for the help!

The Amp has an HDMI-ARC input, so you do not need a soundbar.  Just run an HDMI cable from the HDMI-ARC port on the TV to the HDMI-ARC connection on the Amp.

If I do set it up that way, will I have the option to turn the ceiling speakers off/on with the tv when I want to?

If you turn off CEC, the TV should revert back to internal speakers.
