Switching to TV audio using Optical with Sonos Arc

I have a Sonos Arc hooked up to my TV, when I'm playing music and turn the TV on it keeps playing music. The company who installed it used an optical to connect the two and the HDMI for a distributed video system. Is there a way to fix this without having to switch from Optical to HDMI?

Make sure TV Autoplay is enabled under the Arc’s settings in the Sonos app.
