How do I get my system turned on and synced to my TV

Did Bruce’s answer help you, @TimE911 ? Or, if you need more help you need to be a bit more specific about your problem.

Been in contact with support, they couldn’t even help. Unable to sync to my tv at all and the system won’t stay powered up long enough to do anything. I have all speakers connected to each other and on my phone in the app. I’m unable to get a straight answer, just follow the instructions, like duh!

Why won’t it “stay powered up”? You seem to be having some strange issues. And how is it not in sync with your tv? Do you mean there’s a big delay between video and sound? How do you know if it won’t stay powered up?

You need to give us a lot more info on how you’ve got the system configured, exactly what is going wrong, and what you’ve done to try to resolve it for us to try to help you.

System shows no lights on except for blinking like it’s trying to sync. I don’t have the arc system on my tv so I chose the HDMI connection but it still won’t connect to the tv. Everything has been updated and connected to my phone. Please keep asking me questions so I can give any information I can to keep getting help. Thank you!

Make sure the Arc is connected to the HDMI-ARC connection on the TV.  Then turn on CEC on the TV and switch the output to ARC/eARC.  Note:  Manufacturers often call CEC by different names, including:

  • Anynet+ (Samsung)
  • Aquos Link (Sharp)
  • BRAVIA Link and BRAVIA Sync (Sony)
  • HDMI-CEC (Hitachi)
  • CE-Link and Regza Link (Toshiba)
  • SimpLink (LG)
  • HDAVI Control
  • EZ-Sync
  • VIERA Link (Panasonic)
  • EasyLink (Philips),
  • Realink for HDMI (Mitsubishi).

I have a Hisense TV, so I guess my system won’t pair with it? I don’t have any of those names on my TV, it does show arc but I can’t get it to highlight it stays greyed out. Does Blue toothing have anything to do with this?

Are you using the HDMI cable that came with the Arc?

And are you connecting that cable between the Arc and the HDMI-ARC (or HDMI-eARC) port on the TV (the Hisense is bound to have one).

How did you set up your Arc when you connected it? Did you go to the app to “Add Speaker or Component” and then followed the instructions to connect your Arc to the TV?

(You don’t need to pair anything, you just needed to connect the HDMI cable to the correct TV port, Add Speaker, and follow the instructions.)

Yes I have used the HDMI that came with the arc, and I have 4 HDMI ports but none of them are labeled any kind of arc.

And when it connected it didn’t prompt me to do anything else.

  1. What specific Hisense model TV do you have?

And when it connected it didn’t prompt me to do anything else.

  1. You say ‘it connected’ - but what do you mean? Did the light on the Arc go white? Did it show up in your app as a speaker? i.e. what indicated that it had connected?

I’m not sure on the model of tv I’ll have to look into that, and in the app it connected as arc plus I pairs the sub and two 300’s speakers and have the all labeled family room. Everything had shown white when paired in the app.

So you could play music through your Arc, Sub and surrounds via the app  - you just couldn’t get the TV to play through these speakers?

That might indicate a TV compatibility issue (especially if no ARC or eARC port), and you might need to connect the Arc to the TV via optical cable instead of HDMI. But let us know the model of the TV (it should say on the back of the TV or in its settings menu somewhere).

According to my research, your HDMI 3 port should have eARC written after it. See below. Is this not the case?

I have found the correct HDMI port got it connected and now it works, troubleshooting everything you talked about got me on the right track, thank you so much!!!!!

Also make sure you have the Hisense’s own sound settings set up correctly to provide you with the best sound via the home theatre setup (i.e. ensuring you get 5.1, and/or Dolby Atmos, where applicable).

The app’s Now Playing screen shows a TV when the TV is playing content, and beneath that it will show the sound format currently being received, for your reference.
