SUB Gen 1 compatible with Arc and S2?

Hi, hoping someone can help :) I have an Arc and the whole system is now on S2. I'd like to add a sub. Is the Gen 1 compatible with the Arc and S2? I don't want to have to split between S1 and S2.Thank you :)
