Hi,

I am new to the community however not new tot Sonos. This week I have set up my Sonos player and a Sonos connect amp als a surround system and it works. However if I remove the network cables the surround cables stop.

  1. Is there a way to get the system up and running without the networkcable?
  2. Am I correct to think that my subwoofer out, that worked fine when not in a surround set up, is disabled once I have set up the surround modus on the connect amp?
  3. I am thinking about getting 2 play one speakers to replace the connect amp and speakers in the surround, Will they both need network cables?

Thanks community for any answers

David

Hi,

1. No. See this link for limitations with using the Connect:Amp for surrounds:

2. Correct.
3. If you used Play:1s for surrounds, they would not need to be wired.

You should be able to connect your Sonos to your WiFi if it is set to a compatible mode.

Just to be sure. Your “Sonos player” is actually a Sonos Playbar? If so everything said above is OK.

They have a Playbar listed in their profile and also tagged in their post. OP also stated they set it up as a surround system and it works.

As the OP has already found out, the system cannot be fully wireless when using the Connect:Amp for surrounds.
