I use to be able to manage the sound for my TV (Vizio) through firestick remote.  I notice recently that is no longer the case. Any suggestions? An upgrade by either vendor?

The Sonos Ray works from an IR remote connection. It’s likely one that firestick sent out an update that flipped your remote from IR to some other method (don’t own one myself). Check on how to flip the firestick remote back to IR.

Could be the same thing, if you’re using the Vizio remote. Many years ago, I had an update from Vizio that switched off my IR on the remote. Took me days to figure it out. I was using my phone to control my PLAYBARs, was quite disheartening. Never got an apology from Vizio, or the QA folks who were supposed to be checking the TV’s updates. They completely ignored the issue. Fortunately, once I returned my remote to IR, everything worked as it should.
