about 6 months ago my sonos system just stopped working, thinking it was the sonos system as being the issue i reset it and also connected it to a none Samsung tv, it works perfectly fine on other tv’s so the sonos system isn't the issue.

i have already replaced my optical cable and also the one connect mini- still nothing.

Set up

TV: Samsung UA65JU7000 with one connect mini
Apple TV
Sonos:
Play bar - Version 16.5
Sub - Version 16.5
2 x One speakers - version 16.3

  • TV is connected to one connect mini
  • Apple tv connected to one connect mini
  • playbar connected to one connect mini via optical

When using the sonos app i have tried to set up the tv connection again but it wont detect anything.

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with your Playbar not working with one of your TVs.

If you connect the optical cable to the TV, but don’t connect the other end to the Playbar, do you see red light coming out of the cable? If not, then either there is a fault with the TV, or it’s optical output has not been activated in the TV’s settings.

I hope this helps.

I’d likely try to look at what the TV is trying to send out the optical port. If it is anything greater than Dolby Digital (essentially Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, or Atmos, it will fail due to bandwidth issues in the optical cable. Essentially, you have to limit the TV (and any connected devices) to Dolby Digital, or stereo.
