Sonos Beam w Apple TV question

I have been doing my research on a soundbar for the master bedroom and I ave decided on the Sonos Beam (Gen 2), my first Sonos product.
In the master bedroom our setup consists of a 60” LG TV plus an Apple Box 4K. The Apple box is connected directly to the HDMI Arc, but I am not sure if the TV supports eArc.  When I get the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) which HDMI do I connect the soundbar to?
I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

Just to be super clear, the Beam is connected to the HDMI port that is marked ARC on the TV set, the Apple TV is connected to any other HDMI port.

The Apple TV should be connected to an available HDMI port on the TV. Then connect the ARC/eARC port from the tv to the Beam.

Just to be super clear, the Beam is connected to the HDMI port that is marked ARC on the TV set, the Apple TV is connected to any other HDMI port.

With LG TV’s the ARC, or eARC, port is usually HDMI-2 - it will be marked accordingly - you also need to enable CEC in the TV settings which LG call ‘Simplink’.

Thanks all for your reply. Before connecting the Beam I had the ability to control the TV with the Apple TV remote, (On/OFF, & Volume) Once the Beam is connected to the ARC port and Apple TV Box to any available HDMI I can’t turn off the TV with Apple’s remote or control the volume. I have to use the TV’s remote to change the volume and turn on, turn off and Apple’s TV remote to control the box. 

Now I have to use two remote controls. Is this normal?

I tend to use the LG ‘magic’ remote and CEC control enabled on ALL to control the TV/Connected peripherals - but it depends how you setup your HT/TV. I don’t personally use infrared and I think the Apple ‘remote’ uses Bluetooth, so CEC control with the TV remote would be my choice …and if the TV uses WebOS, then setup your connected products in the LG TV’s device connector (now called Universal Device Connector).

I use the Apple TV remote with both an LG and a Samsung, using CEC. The Apple TV’s interface tells me to turn off the TV, all I have to do is hold down the on/off button, and it then shuts down both the Apple TV and the TV.
